During the fall, winter and early spring of 1984-85, the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery displayed a sample of Charles Martin Conlon's incredible work in its exhibition of many of his photographs reprinted from the original glass negatives.

This 60 card set was produced to coincide with this exhibit. The cards are 4 1/2" x 6 1/8" and have sepia toned photos on the front. Backs are printed in black and white and include extensive biographies of each player along with their major league totals.

Please download the 1981-1988 checklist to find the players included in this set.

Also, see card error at bottom of post.

ERRORS

The photos for Colby Jack Coombs and Fred Clarke are mismatched on their cards with each other.

The postcard book was never corrected, but the Baseball Immortals cards were - thus you can collect both the incorrect AND correct version of the card.
